Story Summary

As a new or existing contributor, I want clear, standardized project documentation, so that I can follow team conventions and workflows consistently without guessing.

Problem / Context

Current documentation is fragmented and uneven, which slows onboarding and causes inconsistent branch/ticket/process behavior.

Scope

  • In scope:
  • Contribution/convention docs (branch naming, tickets/stories, assignment flow)
  • Environment setup expectations and update process
  • Template/process documentation references
  • Testing audit documentation updates
  • Out of scope:
  • Feature implementation unrelated to docs/process
  • Large non-documentation refactors

Acceptance Criteria

  • Given a new contributor reviewing docs, when they follow contribution guidelines, then they can create work using the documented branch/ticket/story conventions.
  • Given setup and process docs, when a contributor prepares local development, then the documented flow is complete and aligned with expected team practices.
  • Given documentation updates are merged, when teammates reference docs, then they can identify where to create stories/issues/PRs and how to keep docs current.

Implementation Tasks

  • Update and consolidate contributor-facing docs for conventions/process.
  • Ensure environment/testing-related documentation is current and linked.
  • Validate docs for clarity and consistency with actual workflow/templates.

Testing Notes

  • New/updated tests identified
  • Manual test steps listed

Definition of Done

  • Acceptance criteria met
  • Linked PR is merged to dev
  • Docs updated if setup/process/behavior changed
  • Project board status moved to Done
